  • Advanced Active Threat Response Instructor – 32 Hour
  • This 32-hour course is built and designed on the premises that an active threat can happen anytime, in any jurisdiction. This course will instruct those who are responsible for teaching their personnel in the area of basic and advanced rapid response to an on-going active threat type incident. The course will instruct all students in the latest tactics for response, exterior movement, interior movement, including hallways, room entries, first aid and extraction of those injured. The instructor candidates will be expected to teach back all material taught to them throughout the course and pass a written exam. This course is designed for L/E personnel who will be responsible for training officers in immediate action – rapid deployment techniques for responding to incidents of extreme, ongoing threats or violence. The course will cover topics such as:
  • Response to active killer situations
  • Exterior active threat strategies & tactics
  • Response to a hostage taking
  • Interior building searches, hallway movement, room clearing & entries
  • Advanced Tactical Trauma Care and extraction of victims
  • Tactical Communications and De-escalations Tactics© – Level 1 & 2 -4 Hours (per level)
  • With the overwhelming increase of smart phone cameras and social media,  officer’s actions are more public than ever before. The ability to de-escalate a situation before it becomes violent has far reaching positive outcomes for the officer as an individual, the agency for liability purposes and the public as a matter of trust and respect. This course provides techniques to stay calm and professional under verbal assault and to generate voluntary compliance from even the most difficult people. Participants will review case law, liability, the importance of positive communication, non-verbal social cues and tactical communication/de-escalation techniques.
  • Understanding Autism and the Special Needs Community© – 4 Hours
  • This training will provide your officers with understanding on how to interact with individuals with autism and the members of the special needs community.
  • Advanced Trauma Care Training Program© – 8 Hours
  • The overall objectives of the ATCTP are to provide officers with state-of-the-art knowledge and hands-on skills required to provide advanced management for trauma patients.  Emphasis will be placed on the most common types of traumatic injuries that your officers will come across during a critical incident, or event.  Students will need to pass a written and practical exam to earn their certificate.  The course will include classroom presentation along with practical and scenario based training.
  • Understanding Cultural Awareness© – 4 Hours
  • This training will provide your officers with a basic understanding concerning interacting with the various cultures in a positive way. Cultural Awareness is the foundation of communication and it involves the ability of standing back from ourselves and becoming aware of our cultural values, beliefs and perceptions.
  • Tactical Rifle Level 1© – 8 Hours
  • The Level 1 Tactical Rifle course is our basic course specifically designed for officers that are incorporating this platform into their agencies inventory.
  • Tactical Rifle Level 2© – 8 Hours
  • The Level 2 Tactical Rifle course is our advanced course specifically designed for officers that are incorporating this platform into their agencies inventory.  Prerequisite is our level 1 course.
  • Handgun Combatives for Law Enforcement©  – 8 Hours
  • We have 4 separate levels of handgun training for your officers.  All tactics are custom built & specifically designed for law enforcement and are reality based.  These course are taught by our master firearms and use of force instructors that bring decades of real world combat experience.  You will not find a more expertly taught firearms course for your team.  Some topics covered:
  • Level 1 – Foundational drills – 8 hours
  • Level 2 – Close quarter movement and drills – 8 hours
  • Level 3 – Working a flashlight, low-light environment – 8 hours

  • Patrol Rifle Instructor© – 32 Hours
  • This course is designed to instruct the patrol officer in the proper use, care and deployment of the rifle for high-risk incidents. Instructor candidates will also receive training in current instructional techniques. Additional topics will include:
  • Safety for range and classroom
  • Range development
  • Responsibilities of the patrol rifle instructor
  • Range and classroom presentations
  • Course development
  • Operation and deployment of the patrol rifle
  • Instructor candidates will be required to deliver classroom presentations on various related topics, as well as, demonstrate the ability to control the direct range operations under live-fire conditions. Candidates must pass both a written and practical examination.
  • TDI® Knife Instructor – 24 hours
  • This intense, physically demanding 3 day 24 hour instructor level course will prepare candidates to instruct their officers in the legal use, deployment, and employment of TDI® knife. Candidates will become proficient in building, preparing and instructing this course to their perspective students, and agencies. The TDI® knife course will cover all aspects of carrying, including legal issues pertaining to the use of the knife in a self-defense situation, defending against an attempted weapon disarm, writing department/agency policy for officers to carry and use their TDI® knife, ways to carry, as well as how and when to deploy and employ the TDI® knife. This is not a military style knife fighting course. This course will instruct the candidates on using the knife as a last resort in defense of their, or another’s life. Candidates will be required to building and instruct their own block of instruction on day 3. This will entail classroom presentation and practical application of the use of the TDI® knife.
  • MACTAC Instructor – 24 Hours
  • The 24-hour MACTAC Instructor Course progresses onto the more advanced strategies and tactics required to counter a “Mumbai-Style” terrorist assault.  The course is oriented towards Patrol Officers who learn how to employ military infantry tactics based on the exterior rapid deployment contact team concept to stop a deadly force incident.  Course content includes formations, exterior movement, planning considerations, deployment of department resources, interior and exterior tactics, rescue under fire, counter-sniper tactics, and IED considerations.
  • Subject Control Instructor© – 40 Hours (Each level)
  • Forever Vigilant’s law enforcement subject control program is comprised of 4 different levels, which are all 5-days, & 40+ hours.  Each level will instruct the candidate in our 4-E’s© of training.  All of our tactics taught in this course will be:

  • Level 1 – Self-defense combatives, arrest & control, searching and handcuffing
  • Level 2 – Countering edged and impact weapon threats, using the folding knife for self defense, review of level 1
  • Level 3 – Countering firearm threats, thwarting handgun disarm attempts & retention, 3rd party weapon disarms, long gun retention and disarms, review of levels 1 & 2
  • Level 4 – Ground control, & combatives, review of levels 1-3
  • Instructor candidates will be expected to teach when called upon, or assigned, as well as passing a written and practical exam.
  • Vehicle Counter Ambush Combatives© – 16 Hours
  •  This course is a must for all officers, especially those working in the confined area of the police vehicle.  The course will introduce the student to advanced tactics of moving,shooting, escaping, evading and prevailing in the ambush environment. Students will be evaluated throughout the entire course and will be expected to complete all drills and scenarios. Students will learn terminal ballistics and vehicles, skip fire and ricochets, advanced GSW trauma care, team tactics, barricades & positional shooting, all while being involved in a CQB ambush.  The course will conclude with multiple scenario force on force training.  This course is an advanced course and all students should be physically fit and free from injury.
